10 years of Intigriti

In the summer of 2026, Intigriti celebrated a major milestone: its 10th anniversary! To mark the occasion, the team came together from around the globe. This article shares what they had to say about a decade of Intigriti!

When we started Intigriti ten years ago, the idea that inviting hackers in could make companies safer was still a relatively hard sell. Then our community proved its worth, day after day, breakthrough after breakthrough. Slowly but surely, the market shifted, and the idea of working with hackers became the new normal.

Customers now embrace this as the most realistic approach to testing their security posture: invite hackers to bring their top game and pay for impact, not for time. Through it all, one thing has held true: hackers are at the center of this industry.

As we move into the next frontier, our principle remains simple. Technology should amplify human curiosity, creativity, and imagination. Ten years ago, we started the platform with a bunch of local brands, and we scaled it to include world-class brands. I couldn't be prouder of what we've built, or more excited about what comes next.

What 10 years of evolution looks like 

Intigriti’s journey shows how a bold idea evolved into a global cybersecurity company combining innovation, strategic investment, and a deeply rooted hacker-first culture. For over a decade, Intigriti has earned international recognition, built trusted partnerships with leading organizations, and helped protect thousands of critical digital services worldwide.  

• 2016 saw a courageous vision take shape: Intigriti was founded in Belgium by Stijn Jans with a clear mission: to redefine cybersecurity testing by connecting organizations with talented ethical hackers. What began as an ambitious idea would grow into one of the world’s leading crowdsourced security platforms. 

• 2017 focused on building a hacker-first culture: Intigriti recognized early that lasting success would depend on the strength of its foundations and the trust of the community. By investing in a hacker-first culture, the company established the values and mindset that accelerated its early growth, and continues to support its elite global network of ethical hackers today. 

• 2018 showcased pioneering open-source security: Intigriti actively built its engagement with the researcher community and onboarded its first wave of enterprise customers. Most significantly, at the close of 2018, Intigriti and Deloitte were selected by the European Commission to run bug bounty programs securing open-source software, announced by MEP Julia Reda, signaling institutional trust at the highest level of governance, a remarkable achievement for a company just two years in.  

• 2019, Intigriti earned recognition on a global stage: The launch of the European Commission’s EU-FOSSA 2 initiative marked a defining moment in Intigriti’s journey. By helping secure essential open-source technologies, the company strengthened its international reputation and established itself as a trusted partner for high-impact security programs. 

• 2020 saw accelerated innovation and growth: A 4 million Series A funding round, led by ETF Partners, gave Intigriti the momentum to expand its platform, community, and market presence. That same year, the company received a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award, recognizing both its rapid growth and its innovative approach to proactive security. 

• 2021 expanded trust across the public sector: Continued recognition from the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 reflected Intigriti’s sustained momentum. At the same time, the company expanded its work with governments and institutions, including the European Commission’s ISA program, helping the public sector identify vulnerabilities before they could be exploited. 

• 2022 set a new funding benchmark: Intigriti closed an astounding  €21 million Series B round led by Octopus Ventures, the largest funding round for a European crowdsourced security company at the time. The investment enabling further international expansion and reinforcing Intigriti’s position as a leading global platform. 

• 2023 saw Intigriti partner with global digital leaders: Intigriti became a premier crowdsourced security partner to Yahoo, supporting major bug bounty programs and collaborative hacking events. The partnership demonstrated the company’s ability to protect world-class digital assets while creating meaningful opportunities for its ethical hacker community. 

• 2024 Intigriti joins the world’s fastest-growing companies: Intigriti was named in the Financial Times FT 1000 ranking of Europe’s fastest-growing companies. Alongside this recognition, major program expansions with global technology leaders such as Intel and later NVIDIA highlighted the growing scale, maturity, and enterprise impact of its platform.  

• 2025 Intigriti recognized for reshaping proactive security: Intigriti’s approach earned industry-wide recognition with the Security Innovation of the Year Award at the UK IT Industry Awards. The achievement celebrated the company’s role in modernizing proactive crowdsourced security and helping organizations uncover risk before it becomes a breach. 

• 2026 highlights a decade of lasting impact: Ten years after its founding, Intigriti has evolved into a global cybersecurity leader (hiring our first US-based team member in the first half of the year). Built on community trust, continuous innovation, and a hacker-first philosophy, the company now helps protect thousands of critical services worldwide and enters its next decade with the same mission that inspired its beginning.

What does the Intigriti team have to say about the milestone? 

When a company scales as fast as Intigriti has, it’s easy to focus on milestones. But behind every landmark are the team members who put in the work, day after day. They have adapted through every shift, welcomed every new hire, and poured their passion into making Intigriti what it is today. 

When Stijn asked me over a beer to build out Intigriti’s community of ethical hackers from the ground up back in 2017, I thought he was nuts (in a good way). I still think he is, but I’m incredibly grateful for that opportunity and the chance to build out something bigger than all of us with some of the brightest minds in the world. Together with our vibrant community, we’ve left a visible mark on both lives and systems. It was probably the best beer I’ve ever had.

I started working with Intigriti not long after its founding. First as an external advisor, and later as part of the team. Back then, bug bounty was still very new and we had to convince clients that working with hackers wasn't a massively crazy idea. Ten years later, we're helping some of the world's biggest brands improve their security and have become an established name in the industry that's clearly here to stay.

What made me choose Intigriti, and still drives me today, is that we're not just helping our clients. We're creating opportunities for our worldwide community of researchers that they might not otherwise have, while helping ensure that the digital tools we all rely on can be used safely and securely. As a data protection lawyer and a mum of two tech-savvy children, that's something I genuinely care about.

Ten years. What a journey! But at the same time, it feels like we're only getting started, and I trust that the things that made me choose Intigriti in the first place won't change any time soon. Ten years from now, technology will undoubtedly look very different, but our goal will remain the same: protecting people through security, and driving security with people.

Brecht joined Intigriti back in 2016 as a contractor, and has since developed into a Senior Engineer.

I first joined Intigriti as a contractor in 2016, and I still remember the moment Stijn bought a printer for our headquarters in Schelle. We joked, ‘We’re a real company now!’ Since then, it’s been incredible to watch the company grow and see so many of my favourite brands become customers, from Tomorrowland, Microsoft, Ubisoft, and Tweakers to AMD. At the same time, I’ve had the opportunity to grow alongside the business. I started as a junior developer, and today I’m proud to be someone the whole team knows they can depend on. Through all that growth and change, it’s great to see that Stijn, our CEO and Founder, is still the same person I first met back in October 2016.

The crowdsourced security space moves at lightning speed. It is dynamic, innovative, and continuously evolving. With a background in cybersecurity, joining Intigriti as Senior Cybersecurity Technical Writer felt like a natural fit, and my journey here has been nothing short of fantastic. I have always strived to present insights that drive real-world impact, empowering organizations to elevate their security posture while championing the findings and insights of our team and the researcher community. What makes the Intigriti team extraordinary is an insatiable curiosity and a relentless grit to learn, dissect complex challenges, and explore what’s truly possible. This is equally paired with a deeply grounded culture and a passion for excellence. I am immensely proud to be part of the Intigriti team and its developing story, part of the advancement of crowdsourced security, and I very much look forward to seeing what we achieve over the next decade.

Arne Schoonvliet is the Head of Engineering and Operations at Intigriti. He joined in 2018 and reminisces about the early days and how far the company has come since then.

With the many events we attend each year, like DEF CON, I’ve found myself thinking back to the early days, when we were a close-knit team of just five to eight people. Our team-building evenings often meant dinner at the casino in Brussels, followed by a few games. Before heading over, we’d meet at the pub for drinks and play blackjack, with Stijn as the dealer, and, somehow, the house always won! It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come since then. One of my favourite memories has to be our trip to Mallorca in 2022. It was an unforgettable celebration and a brilliant moment to share with the team. I look forward to many more moments like that!

It’s hard to believe it’s almost been two years since I joined Intigriti. Seeing how much we’ve grown in that relatively short time is incredibly exciting, and something we should all be proud of. From expanding our services with new offerings, like CrowdRecon, to working with an ever-growing portfolio of amazing customers, we’ve added some fantastic new logos, strengthened existing partnerships, and extended relationships with fantastic brands. Seeing the trust customers place in us and the value we deliver has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.

I’ve also seen our Customer Success team grow while maintaining the same fun, trusting, and collaborative environment. The trust we put in people at Intigriti is something I really value, and it’s a big part of what makes Intigriti such a great place to work. If the progress we’ve made in the last two years is anything to go by, the next coming years are going to be even more exciting.

In 2022 I joined Intigriti. When I started, the Pentest programs had just launched and seeing what a success it is now is unbelievable. After some time managing the Pentests, I got the opportunity to switch career paths and joined the triage team. A team that has people with huge dedication and a great passion to learn and grow. Intigriti’s triage is one of a kind, and I’m so proud to be part of this team.

The approach that was taken in the early days, which was being personal in our communication, being transparent about all the decisions, and ensuring quality over quantity, turned out to be the best decision ever, and we still teach our newest members the same approach. Even though our core values have not changed, we have grown immensely in the past years. From a small team of Belgian triagers to a team that’s three times as big and international (8 different countries!).

What I love most is not only that we grow, but we also get to see our researchers grow. From being new researchers submitting their very first reports on the platform to becoming some of the best hackers on a global scale. We get to be a part of their journey and have a real impact on people’s lives.

llias Dewachter joined Intigriti back in 2019 for an internship. The rest is history.

I was drawn in by the tech stack and the mission of making the world a safer place online. But within that first week of my internship, I realized that the people and the vibes were something immaculate. The working culture here was (and still is) something special that has only been enriched by more incredible people over the years. It pushes you to do your best while keeping the environment open and supportive.  We had this joke in the past that engineers need to "run into a wall" by doing the wrong thing. That's the best way to learn, and I fully support that. Looking at where I'm at now, as a tech lead who's working on incredible projects such as CrowdRecon, I can't help but to feel proud and grateful for what we've all achieved together.

As personal assistant to the CEO, Jennifer Nyembo has a unique insider experience of the everyday life of our CEO and Founder, Stijn.

Stijn Jans never stops, never quits, and handles everything with grace. It’s a huge compliment to see how he still leads with so much energy and motivation, and how far the company has come. What stands out most about Stijn is that he's very down-to-earth and among the team. You'll often see him joining after-work activities or pulling pranks with colleagues. Congratulations on building something very cool that will benefit customers and researchers for years to come, and on building a great work culture for your employees!

Kristof De Laet joined Intigriti in 2017, coming from the aviation industry and completely new to IT. 

When I joined Intigriti back in 2017, I was completely new to IT, coming from the aviation industry, with minimal computer skills. Stijn saw something in me that I didn’t yet see in myself. My mentors pushed me to keep pace when we decided to evolve the Intigriti platform, and I’ve been on an incredible ride ever since. I have watched this company grow from a handful of people into a thriving organization of more than 100 people, with offices across multiple countries. The milestones and memories along the way have been amazing: VIP trips to Tomorrowland, securing funding just as COVID brought the world to a standstill, Mallorca, moving offices twice. But what amazes me most is that, through all that growth, we’ve managed to keep so much of the same culture and values that made Intigriti special in the first place. For instance, I loved the quirk of making our funding rounds end in 1337 so much that I ended up taking inspiration from it myself when making an offer on a house. That probably says more about how much Intigriti has become part of my life.

As the company’s full-time frontend developer, I’ve had the privilege of helping shape and protect our design vision while watching the company evolve around it. Going from someone who could barely use a computer to being part of the team building the platform that protects companies around the world has been a pretty incredible journey. Ten years of Intigriti, and almost nine of those years for me. I’m genuinely proud to have been along for the ride, and I can’t wait to see where the next ten years take us.

I've been at Intigriti since 2024. I first joined as an intern, and now as a full-time employee. It’s been really cool to see how much the company has grown in the time I’ve been here. What I really like is that, even with all that growth and the expansion into the USA, it still feels like there’s a strong sense of community and that people genuinely care about what we’re building together. I’m really excited to see where we go from here, especially with further international growth, taking on new challenges, and continuing to innovate in cybersecurity, like we’re doing now with CrowdRecon. It’s really nice to be part of that journey, and I’m excited to see what the next few years will bring!

A word on the future, from Intigriti’s CFO, CRO, and COO

Ten years is a milestone. It is not a finish line. Over the past decade, we have built more than a business. We have built resilience, expertise, relationships and a great track record through good years, difficult decisions and constant change. 

What makes me proud is not simply that we have been here for ten years. It is that we kept evolving. We challenged ourselves, made choices for the long term, and continued to earn the trust of our customers, partners, people, and community.

As CFO, I believe sustainable growth is never accidental. It comes from ambition backed by discipline, courage backed by facts, and people who take ownership of the outcome. So while this anniversary deserves to be celebrated, my eyes are firmly on what comes next... Be prepared for our impact!

Ten years in, and the one thing that has not changed is how fast this industry moves. Every year brings new technologies, new threats, and new attack vectors, and our customers need help keeping up with it all. What has kept us ahead is our community. They adapt faster than any product roadmap could, and they pick up new tools and techniques at the same pace as those tools and techniques are released. Our community’s ability to adapt to change so rapidly is what enables us to deliver real value to the customers who trust us to help them protect what matters most to them.

That's also why we've never treated the community and our customers as separate priorities. They matter equally to us, and that thinking has shaped most of the big decisions we've made. From positioning and product direction, through to packaging, pricing, and where we put our commercial focus.

Looking at the next ten years, I believe staying focused on both our customers and community is the right strategy and is what keeps us in a unique position to offer companies around the world the best crowd-led security services through our platform.

Our 10th anniversary is a testament to the impact of our security researchers community, the vision of our founders, and the creativity and drive of our people. As proud as I am of our first decade, I’m even more energized by the opportunity to transform our product to deliver even more impact. As we enter this next chapter, we are scaling operations, innovating with AI, but continue to champion the ethical hacking community, and provide the highest quality of service to our customers.
